Tingle lotion are creams that have an extra kick to them.
These carefully made lotions have ingredients added that make the skin tan faster by increasing blood flow to the surface. The name “tingling” comes from the feeling they give you when your blood flow goes up. When you tingle, your skin tans the darkest. This is great for places like your legs that are hard to tan.
Tanning experts say that tingles are best for people who have tried tanning before but have hit a wall or are having trouble tanning and need an extra push. People who are just getting a tan or who have sensitive skin shouldn’t use tingles.
How Do Tingle Lotion Works?
When there is more blood flow near the skin’s surface, oxygen reacts with the melanin that is already there. The darker and deeper your tan will get, the more melanin is moving around. As you tan, the sun and extra oxygen reach the top layers of your skin, which may make you feel warm and tingly.
These lotions work great on areas that are hard to tan, like the legs, and are suggested for people who have tried accelerators and bronzers and have hit a tanning plateau.
When you get out of bed, you may also see red spots or spots that look like they are blotchy. These should go away quickly when your lesson is over.
They come in different strengths, so make sure you ask the tanning professional what strength the lotion you are thinking about is. The strength of almost all tingle creams should be written on the bottle. Someone who has used tingle for a long time might not even notice a feeling that a new user would find unpleasant.
When To Avoid Tingle Lotion?
Tickle creams are not good for people with sensitive skin. Having more microcirculation can really bother skin that is already sensitive. People who are just getting a tan shouldn’t try tingles because they can be too strong. Also, don’t use tingles if you’re going to be near pets or young children right after tanning.
When used on their skin, the chemicals in tingles can work better. There are products called “Stop Action” that can help you get rid of the feeling of a tingle. Warm water can make the tingling worse, but soap and cool water can be used to slowly wash off the lotion.
To cool the skin down, use a moisturizing cream that is safe for tanning, like Rain or Angel Daily Moisturizer.
Before you use a new cream for the first time, get a packet and put it on your skin to see if it is sensitive, allergic, or has any other issues. Put a small amount of oil on an area of your body that you can easily see, like the inside of your arm.
Keep an eye on the area for 24 hours before applying the product to other parts of your body. You should stop using the cream and not tan for a few days if you get a rash or redness that won’t go away.
You might also see bumps or welts. Talk to your doctor if the problem doesn’t go away.
How To Use Tingle Lotion?
- Tingles should be used after you already have a base tan. Sunburn could happen if you use a tingle without first getting a base tan.
- Be sure that your product has the right amount of tingle before you use it. You should always start with lower-tingles when you first start having tingles.
- Use a small amount of oil to test it. You should only use it on the rest of your body if you don’t mind the way it feels.
- Apply the lotion evenly to your body, being careful not to get it on your face or other tender areas.
- Use a moisturizer to bring back the moisture to your skin after your lesson. It’s important to keep your skin wet because tingles can dry it out.
- When you use tingles, don’t forget to switch between lotions! If you used a tingle in your last exercise, use an accelerator in the next one. This will help keep the skin from drying out too much.
- If the lotion doesn’t hurt as much as it used to, it’s likely because you’re no longer sensitive to the active ingredient. You still feel the tingle as strongly as you did before, but the lotion doesn’t work as well. This will be less likely to happen if you switch between tingle and non-tingle lotions.
- Do not take a shower until the tingling stops. If the bronzers in your tingle are in it, you should wait 4 to 6 hours before taking a bath so that your tan can fully set in.
