We can get stuck in old habits when heavy karma pulls us toward the same kinds of people, jobs, sicknesses, events, accidents, and burdens we don’t need. By looking at our own karma and taking the steps needed to fix it, we can break the circle of karma, which is very much needed.
What is Bad Karma?
When you think, act, feel, or intend negatively, you create bad karma. This makes you act negatively. Bad action is when you say or do something quickly without thinking about it. It leads to bad karma.
For instance, if the ground shakes a lot and a snowflake falls off, it starts to roll downhill, attracting other snowflakes that are also free. This leads to a landslide over time.
One bad thought, word, or action is an energy particle that draws other energy particles that are “like” it. Soon you are in the energy field of bad karma.
- The word “karma” in Sanskrit means the results of what you do. This word is used in Buddhism.
- They are called the laws of causality by Buddha. They say that every cause has an effect, and every result has another effect.
- The term for this in science is “cause and effect.” “Every action has an equal and opposite reaction,” is Sir Isaac Newton’s third law of physics.
- “As you sow, so you reap” is a Christian proverb that refers to karma. Putting down a seed makes a plant grow. The plant makes many fruits, and each fruit has at least one seed. A lot of plants have fruit for a long time.
Karma Principles
Karma has four main principles.
- Little things can have big effects. Even the smallest deed can make someone very happy or very sad. What you think is a small act of kindness could mean a lot to someone else, just like a hurtful comment can hurt someone for a long time. Some people may not know it, but the little things you do for others could change their lives.
- You can’t give or receive karma. That is, you are in charge of your own karmic events. No one else can feel your fate or take it away for you, and the same goes for the other way around.
- Actions that aren’t committed won’t get you what you want. To get the results you want, you have to fully commit to what you’re doing or what you want to happen.
- The things you did in the past won’t go away on their own. You have to live with the effects, good or bad, or use spiritual practices to clean them up.
Can Karma Be Both Good And Bad?
Remember that karma can be good or bad.
For yogis and spiritual seekers, the final goal is to get rid of all their karma, both good and bad. It is possible for good karma to turn into bad karma, since good deeds produce good karma.
You might see people who have a lot of friends but still feel lonely. There may be wealthy people who are going through legal problems or having trouble with their health, relationships, peace of mind, and other things.
What Are The Signs Of Bad Karma?
Bad karma can show up in many ways, such as wanting to please everyone, being afraid, or having a bad mood. Dwelling on bad thoughts is one of the main signs that you have bad luck.
Here are some other signs:
- Low self-worth
- Bad things
- Laziness
- Sense of entitlement
- Overthinking
How Karma Affects Your Life
Buddhists believe that there is no greater power that gives and takes away life. You only have to do something on purpose and then deal with the results. In other words, you are in charge of your own acts and the results they have.
Because karma is built on intent, things that happen by accident don’t affect karmic justice or consequences. There’s no way to prove karma exists, but people who believe in it often find happiness and stronger bonds. Why is this? Because most people who believe in karma will do good things to get good things back.
Whether you believe in karma or not, hurting other people will usually lead to bad feelings, which can make you unhappy and angry. Just having these thoughts can make your life hard. Many people believe that karma means treating others the way you want to be treated.
Karma can change how you live your life, either because you’re afraid of what might happen or because you’re looking forward to what will happen.
How to Get Rid of Bad Karma
Use these twelve techniques to break free from your present karma and bring about a new reality:
1. Identify Your Karma
Each of us is stuck in situations we don’t want because of our own unique fate. Finding the parts of your life that feel stuck is the first thing you need to do to change your fate.
A love relationship that won’t move forward? Is it in your job that you can’t seem to break through? Have you been having the same problems with some family members for too long?
Be honest with yourself about the problems you’re having and figure out where the issue is. Write about the question “When and how did this all begin?” To free yourself from your karma knots and move toward your full potential, you must first get to the bottom of the problem.
2. Sever Ties To Toxic People
Life is already hard enough; don’t make it worse by hanging out with the wrong people! You owe it to yourself and your karma to let someone go their own way if their energy doesn’t feel “right” and they’re always making you feel stressed.
But that doesn’t mean you should make things bad between you and someone; it just means you should nicely and respectfully stay away from people who hurt you more than help you.
3. Learn From (And Take Responsibility For) Your Mistakes
On the other hand, your energy will start to change when you start to accept that you were wrong. It can be hard to take responsibility because your ego doesn’t like being blamed.
Start slowly by looking back at the mistakes you’ve made in the past and thinking about what you could do differently the next time something similar happens. This doesn’t mean you should feel bad or think about the past.
It just means you should promise to check with your karma before making a choice in the future.
4. Perform Actions That Nourish Your Spirit And Invoke Well-Being On Every Level.
Do things that make you feel good to comfort your inner child. For example, eat well, exercise regularly, get enough sleep, and every day take some time to be still and think about yourself.
5. Defy Your Weaknesses
Inherently, we think that we are weak in some areas and strong in others. You might believe that you are good at making other people happy but bad at standing up for yourself. Why don’t you see that your flaws are really your secret strengths? They make you who you are just as much as your best qualities.
Don’t let your weaknesses make you a “victim””this will only bring bad things into your life that will play on your weaknesses. Instead, get the courage to face your weaknesses and take charge of your karma patterns.
6. Take A New Action
From time to time, we’re so set in our ways that we can’t see how bad they are. You should slow down enough to see if the old ways you’re doing things are still helping you. If they’re not, you need to change how you act.
The easiest and most overlooked way to make up for bad karma and create good karma is to follow your principles. Do good things even if no one asks you to. When in doubt, treat other people the way you’d like them to treat you.
7. Forgive Everyone
People who are angry at you will draw more angry people, because bad karma feeds on anger. We often question why we can’t get out of the negative cycle: The reason we get stuck in these loops is that we don’t want to face the truth. To forgive is to separate yourself from the anger, resentment, and rage you hold inside.
Everybody has their own karmic fights to fight. We can experience the miracle of freedom and fulfill the bigger purpose of our lives right now as soon as we figure out where our unfinished karma comes from and take steps to fix it.
8. Focus On Balance
The universe always tries to be fair. Neither good nor bad energy can exist by itself. There is an equal and opposite negative force for every good force.
It’s a balance when someone who is negative makes you think about positive things. Bad luck isn’t always bad, though.
The force from your prayer has to help you first before it can reach other things. Your good deed cancels out the bad effects of someone else’s bad karma. If you ask me, “Is bad karma bad?” I’d say “No.”
9. Focus On Peace And Contentment
Your good luck comes from the things you thought, said, and did in past lives and with your relatives. Thank God for every good thing that happens. Tell the people you see every day how thankful you are for them.
This erases your karmic bills. Living a grateful life can help you get rid of bad karma and carry good karma too. You learn to be non-attached, gain freedom, and live a happier life.
Being kind comes from the heart. You learn to handle other people the way you want to be handled.
10. Think Introspectively
When things are going badly, you should think about what you’re doing and take responsibility for what you say and do. You can figure out how you brought bad luck into your life by being honest with yourself. You made decisions that led to suffering.
Bad luck makes you lose things, but that’s the price you have to pay to learn lessons. When you become smarter, you make different decisions that lessen the pain of the bad karma and keep it from happening again. It also helps to have a spiritual guide.
11. Cut Toxic People Out Of Your Life
Getting rid of bad karma is easy: just get rid of things that are bad for you. That includes any bad people you might have around.
It’s time to cut ties with people who are making your life harder and giving you bad advice. These people might urge you to act badly. Spending time with peaceful and happy people is important for you.
12. Take Responsibility For Your Actions
Being responsible for what you do is another easy way to try to get rid of bad karma. Fix what you did wrong. Say sorry to someone if you hurt them. Make changes to how you act to be nicer and happier.
Make sure the people in your family do good things instead of bad things, or you might pick up their bad karma. Look back at the mistakes you’ve made in the past and accept that you did make mistakes that you need to fix.
Know that having bad thoughts will make you act badly, which will bring you bad luck. What you give comes back to you.
